Inflation: how it eats your savings and how to protect them
What UAH 100,000 will buy in 5 and 10 years, how the real return differs from the rate in the contract and what actually protects you from inflation.
What your money will buy in the future and how much you will need to keep its value.
| Year | Buys as much as today, UAH | Needed, UAH |

The calculator shows two things. First, what your amount will buy after the term, in today's prices. Second, how much money you will need then to buy what it buys now.
How inflation affects savings and how to protect yourself is explained in “Inflation: how it eats your savings”.
For a forward-looking estimate, use the expected annual inflation; the National Bank of Ukraine's forecasts are a good guide. For past years, use actual annual inflation from the State Statistics Service. In December 2025 it was 8.0%.
It is how much you can buy with a given amount. If prices rose by 8%, UAH 100,000 buys as much as UAH 92,593 did a year ago. The calculator shows what your money will be worth in today's prices.
Keep savings where the after-tax return is higher than inflation: in a deposit, in government bonds and, for the long term, in investments. Money without interest loses value every year by the rate of inflation.
Because inflation also compounds: every year prices rise from an already higher level. At 8% a year prices double in about 9 years.
The calculation is for reference only and is not financial or tax advice. Actual terms depend on your contract with the bank, fees and current law.
