How to use the calculator

  1. Choose how to estimate your earnings. If you do not know your earnings ratio, enter your official salary: the calculator compares it with the national average. If you know the ratio from your Pension Fund account or an earlier calculation, enter it directly.
  2. Select your gender. It determines which record counts as full for the minimum pension guarantee: 30 years for women, 35 for men.
  3. Set your insurance record, the years for which contributions were paid, as of the date you retire.

The result is the monthly pension for someone retiring in 2026. Below it you can see from what age that record gives the right to retire, how much each year of record adds and what share of your salary the pension will be. The chart shows how the pension changes with a record of 15 to 45 years.

The retirement pension formula

The average wage indicator is the average salary in Ukraine on which contributions were paid over the three years before the year of retirement. The earnings ratio shows how many times your salary differed from the average: the Pension Fund calculates it for every month since 1 July 2000 and averages it. Each factor and how the Pension Fund actually calculates it is covered in detail in our article on how to calculate a retirement pension.

How the calculator estimates the earnings ratio

In "From my salary" mode the calculator divides your salary by the average salary on which contributions were paid: according to the Pension Fund, in April 2026 this was UAH 25,001.55. This gives the ratio you would have if your salary had always been in the same proportion to the average.

Official salaryEarnings ratioPension with 35 years of record

UAH 15,0000.60UAH 3,671
UAH 25,0001.00UAH 6,119
UAH 40,0001.60UAH 9,790
UAH 60,0002.40UAH 14,685

This is an estimate. If your salary changed, for example it was at the minimum in the early years and then rose, your actual ratio will be the average over the whole period. The Pension Fund may also leave out up to 10% of the months with the lowest salary if that works in your favour. For a more accurate result, take the ratio from your Pension Fund account or work out the average ratio of your salary to the national average over different years.

How much record you need to retire

Retirement ageRecord in 2026What changes next
60At least 33 yearsOne year more every year, 35 years in 2028
63From 23 yearsThe lower limit also rises every year
65From 15 yearsNo change
Under 15 yearsNo pension is grantedState social assistance from 65

The calculator uses the 2026 rules. If you retire later, check the requirements for your year: a record that is enough today may fall short in a few years. How to check your record and what to do about gaps is explained in our article on insurance record.

Calculation examples

Minimum and maximum pension

  • The minimum retirement pension with a full record (30 years for women, 35 for men) equals the subsistence minimum for people unable to work: UAH 2,595. If the formula gives less, the calculator shows the minimum and marks the top-up on the chart.
  • Top-ups for non-working pensioners are set by the government depending on age and record. They can raise the payment above the minimum but are not included in the calculation.
  • The maximum pension is capped at ten subsistence minimums for people unable to work: UAH 25,950.

What the calculator does not include

  • Indexation and the new average wage indicator. The result is in 2026 hryvnias. By the time you retire both figures will change, and the pension in hryvnias will be different.
  • Deferred retirement. If you apply later than you became entitled, the pension is increased for each month of deferral.
  • Recalculation for working pensioners taking into account new record and salary.
  • Preferential and special pensions: separate rules apply to hazardous work, the military, researchers and civil servants.
  • Supplements for special merit, combat veterans, people with disabilities and others.

How to increase your future pension

  • Get your salary officially. The earnings ratio affects the pension more than any single year of record: going from a ratio of 1 to 2 doubles the pension.
  • Close gaps in your record. Months without contributions can be bought back by paying the single social contribution voluntarily. What it costs and when it pays off is worked out in our article on buying insurance record.
  • Check your data early. Errors in record and salary for the 1990s and 2000s are easier to fix while documents and employers still exist.
  • Save on your own. Even with a good salary, the state pension is only part of your former income. How regular contributions grow over the long term is shown by the compound interest calculator.

FAQ

How is a retirement pension calculated in Ukraine in 2026?

The pension equals the average wage indicator used for pensions (UAH 17,482.87 for pensions granted in 2026), multiplied by your earnings ratio and by the record ratio: 1% for each year of insurance record.

How many years of record do I need to retire in 2026?

At 60, at least 33 years of record; at 63, from 23 years; at 65, from 15 years. The requirements rise by a year every year: in 2028 retiring at 60 will require 35 years.

Where can I find my earnings ratio and record?

In your personal account on the Pension Fund of Ukraine web portal: it shows your record and salary for every month since 2000. The Pension Fund calculates the exact ratio when it grants the pension; the calculator gives an estimate from your current salary or from a ratio you already know.

What is the minimum retirement pension in 2026?

With a full record (30 years for women, 35 for men) the minimum pension equals the subsistence minimum for people unable to work: UAH 2,595. The government also sets top-ups for non-working pensioners, which the calculator does not include.

Why is my pension lower than I expected?

Most often because of a low earnings ratio: contributions were paid only on the official part of the salary. A salary at the minimum wage gives a ratio of about 0.35, and the formula pension comes out below the subsistence minimum.

Does the calculator include pension indexation?

No. It shows the pension in today's hryvnias for retirement in 2026. Pensions are indexed every year from 1 March, and the average wage indicator for new pensions changes, so by the time you retire the amount in hryvnias will be different.
